Native x64 programs




















I had run uTorrent 3. I also liked Media Player Classic x However, I browse a site often that uses RealMedia to present old radio airchecks doh! The site admin refuses to convert the codec to something more modern, so I have to use MPC's x86 build. Thanks for letting me know about VLC. I'll check the x64 build out. Check out these. They are regularly and frequently updated. There are additional x64 codecs to install for use in an x64 OS with a x64 media player.

If you look in the Tools section, you will find links to versions of MPC-HC, both x86 and x64, that have been specifically tweaked to work well with Shark 's codecs.

As far as I know, they will play RealMedia files. Please let us know if that solution works for you. Well I installed the experimental x64 version of VLC v2. It can load the stream by having the user provide the URL for the Real Media item it even shows the time length.

But since there are no 64 bit Real Media codecs installed or in existence , it won't render the stream. But it's a no go for streaming. View New Content Alcohol-Soft. Please, consider my suggestion. Any comments? However, not every program will gain a boost from a native bit version. And this way, they can still maintain a single release, instead of offering dual bit and bit builds.

Less confusion to the customers. I see complaints over at DT forum all the time where people download the wrong version without realizing it, and they have to have explained to them what the difference is. With the mingw-w64 toolchain, you can compile native 64bit software that running under bit windows Win64 , such as windows XP x64 or windows x I didn't try it under windows vista x64, any information on mingw-w64 under windows vista x64 is wellcomed.
